講者介紹

  • Alan Ou

Alan toured the country playing poker professionally for over five years after graduating from Texas A&M. His first foray into the entertainment industry was at WME where he worked in the television literary department for Teresa Kang and Marc Korman and in the motion picture literary department for Robert Newman. He then went to work for director Ruben Fleischer on the Warner Bros. film GANGSTER SQUAD. Shortly after the movie wrapped, Wrigley Pictures entered into a first-look producing deal with New Line and subsequently brought Alan on board to runl development. It was at Wrigley Pictures where he oversaw the production of Horrible Bosses 2, How To Be Single and Fist Fight. He developed RAMPAGE starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Brad Peyton directing which just wrapped principal photography. His next feature MIDNIGHT SUN starring Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger is due for release in 2018. He is currently head of Content Development for Michael Bay’s virtual reality media company Holor.

 

  • Gwen Brinsmead

Gwen is the Lead Product Designer at Disqus (YC S07), working on building engagement tools for top digital publishers including, The Atlantic, TMZ, and CNET. Prior to lead design at Disqus, Gwen worked with a number of startups, helping them bring research and design thinking into their product development process. She is also the Director of Community at Interact, a non-profit where she supports young technologists working on bridging the gap between technology and social impact. Gwen spends her time thinking about the future of creative tools, obsesses over spreadsheets, and contemplating the division between building and experiencing. She has taught design workshops with many women-focused organizations including Girls in Tech, Girl Develop It, and She++ at Stanford.


  • Colton Pierson

    Colton Pierson manifests his passion in problem solving and efficiency through building software that improves hardware supply chain management. He co-founded Assembly in 2014, invested by world renowned investors including Y Combinator (YC S15), Menlo Ventures and FundersClub. Assembly connects manufacturers with hardware companies through an IoT (Internet of Things) and data collection platform, making it possible to streamline processes, monitor quality and reduce costs. It is headquartered in Redwood City, California and rapidly expanding with presences in Suzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Qingdao. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Colton dropped out of college and became a full stack developer building various mobile and web applications. He is currently CTO at Assembly, leading the company's technology development with manufacturers in Asia."


  • Jamie Lin

    Jamie started AppWorks. AppWorks is both Asia's largest startup accelerator and one of the region's most active early-stage VCs. AppWorks Accelerator, the renowned 6-month free accelerator program, now admits 35 startups per batch from across the region and boasts 320 active startups and 720 founders in its alumni network. All AppWorks startups together generate US$ 1.06 billion in annual revenues, and most importantly, provide 4,557 jobs to this region. As a VC, AppWorks manages 2 funds at US$ 61M. It funds 15 deals a year, owns 40 companies in its portfolio and has so far produced 2 IPOs -- NetPublishing and KuoBrothers.

    Prior to AppWorks, Jamie was an Associate at HSS Ventures and an Analyst at All Asia Partners. During his life as an entrepreneur, Jamie co-founded 4 startups including Intumit and Muse Games. Jamie started coding and putting computers together since the age of 10. He received his BS in Engineering from National Taiwan University and MBA from NYU Stern. His blog, MR JAMIE, has provided inspirations to millions of readers in the venture community since 2009.
